The Goat House at Ivy Cottage is situated in the Historic village of Laxton, north of Nottingham and to this day continues the Medieval Open Field Farming System. The Goat House is an idyllic place to stay and has been lovingly restored to provide you with a fantastic base to explore the surrounding area. At the heart of the village is the Dovecote Inn where you can find great value and locally sourced food and real ales.The Goat House accommodation is separate from the main house, providing you with the utmost privacy and offers a master bedroom with television (freesat and DVD) and a beautifully finished bathroom. We also have a twin bedroom that is available if required. Breakfast is a wholesome affair with locally source products and award winning homemade marmalade and served at a time to suit you. We are situated less than 10 miles from Newark, ideal for Newark Showground and within 6 miles from market towns Southwell and Retford. There are very good rail links at Newark and Retford.Please note we only accept cash or cheque.

From A1 South take exit signposted Tuxford. Immediately before T-junction turn left onto Newcastle Street, signposted Egmanton. Continual along this road through Egmanton and into Laxton. Once you arrive in Laxton we are situated on Main Street, (adjacent to Main Street sign, below the Dovecote Inn). Ivy Cottage is a square Georgian house, up a gravel drive and turn left into driveway.From A1 North Exit off at B1164 (Ollerton Tuxford), at roundabout take forth exit (Ollerton B1164), drive over A1 to next roundabout and take first exit off signposted Tuxford. Drive into Tuxford and turn right (just after zebra crossing) and immediately right again onto Newcastle Street (signposted Egmantion). Continual along this road through Egmanton and into Laxton. Once you arrive in Laxton we are situated on Main Street, (adjacent to Main Street sign, below the Dovecote Inn).
